PRIVACY POLICY

As a TRA, Therapist for Relationship Assitance®, I, Alexandre Boutin, understand the importance of confidentiality, particularly within the framework of human support. I am committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of my clients and the visitors to my website.

This policy describes how I collect, use, and protect your information in accordance with Quebec’s Law 25.

By using my services, you accept the terms of this policy.

1. What data is collected?

I collect the following types of data:

    • Directly from you: Name, email address, phone number, civic address, and any information provided via my contact form or during the opening of your file.
    • Consultation Data: Session notes necessary for professional follow-up, in accordance with CITRAC standards.
    • Technical Data (WHC.ca): IP address, browser type, and browsing behavior (via basic cookies) to ensure the security and optimization of my site.

2. How is your data collected?

Data is collected in four ways:

    • Via my website: When you complete a contact form.
    • Via L’Assistemps: For appointment scheduling. Only basic identification information (name, contact details, date of birth) is collected there to facilitate billing and the management of your client file. L’Assistemps is a Quebec-based platform compliant with Law 25.
    • Session Notes: Follow-up notes are taken after—never during—our sessions and are kept locally by me.
    • Via Facebook: If you interact with my advertisements or professional page, Facebook may collect data according to its own privacy policy.

3. Use of your data

Your data is used strictly for:

    • Service provision: Providing relationship aid sessions and managing your client account.
    • Communications: Sending appointment reminders (via L'Assistemps) or responding to your inquiries.
    • Session security: Using Google Meet for videoconferencing.
    • Legal compliance: Meeting my obligations toward CITRAC and the requirements of Bill 21.

4. Data Safeguarding and Protection

I prioritize the security and confidentiality of our exchanges:

    • Email communications: I use the Gmail (Google) platform for our electronic exchanges. While Google offers advanced security measures, I recommend limiting the sharing of highly sensitive information via email.
    • Simplified Management (L'Assistemps): For appointment booking and basic administrative management, I use L’Assistemps. The only data stored there are your last name, first name, email, phone number, date of birth, and appointment dates.
    • Session Notes (Local Backup): For enhanced confidentiality, your professional support notes are kept locally under my immediate care and are not stored on third-party servers or in the "cloud."
    • Financial Data: No banking or credit card information is collected on my site or platforms, as payments are made via Interac e-Transfer.
    • Retention: In accordance with CITRAC standards, your administrative data and clinical notes are kept for a period of seven (7) years after the last session, then securely destroyed.

5. Your Rights

You hold the following rights regarding your personal information:

    • Right of access: To consult the data I hold about you.
    • Right of rectification: To request the correction of inaccurate information.
    • Right to erasure: To request the deletion of your data (subject to my professional retention obligations).
    • Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent to the use of your data at any time.

6. Cookies and Third-Party Technologies

Facebook: I use advertising tools (cookies/pixel) to measure the effectiveness of my ads. You can manage your advertising preferences directly on Facebook.

Google Meet: Although sessions are encrypted, you are responsible for the security of your own internet connection during calls.
